David Awoleye (b. 1996) is a Lagos-based artist redefining mixed-media expression. Originally from Ekiti State, Nigeria, he holds a BA in Creative Arts (Visual Art) with a focus on Sculpture from the University of Lagos and sharpened his craft at the Universal Studio of Art in Lagos. 

Awoleye’s work is a bold fusion of textures and materials, Ankara fabric, shoelaces, textile liners, and beads, woven into vibrant narratives of culture and identity. His passion for experimental art began in middle school, evolving into a signature style that challenges conventions. 

 Now a full-time studio artist, Awoleye finds inspiration in solitude, with music as his creative fuel.
